The standard American diet contains a lot of processed, fake foods that are toxic to our bodies, causing inflammation, which leads to symptoms like poor digestion (bloating, gas, IBS, constipation, diarrhea, etc.), weight gain, low energy, poor sleep, broken out skin, etc. Not resolving these problems can eventually lead to diseases such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimer's, and diabetes.
In order to eliminate as many of these toxins and to improve the symptoms taht they cause, eating a diet that is free of processed foods, refined foods, and other toxins and chemicals is the best way. So, basically eating clean.
That does not mean that you have to be deprived or miss out on your favorite foods. You can eat clean, healthy foods without feeling deprived.
